What do you do when your life doesn’t go as you planned?

Her Story:

Anna, married at 12 or 13 years of age, was married for 7 years when she became a widow. Widows in their culture word distinctive clothing that marked them as in mourning and were regarded as being under God’s special care. A widow that didn’t have children typically returned to her parents’ home. Deprived of the protection and support of a husband, widows were often treated mean and exposed to extortion. Because of the dangers for widows, laws were created to protect them. Anyone caught treating a widow poorly was punished intensely.

Anna at the age of 19 or 20 committed her life to service of God and never left the inner walls of the temple. We read about her at the age of 84 when Joseph and Mary arrived on the 8th day for Jesus’ baptism.

Study: Ending a relationship whether a divorce or a death can shake you to the core–shake your identity, your security and confidence. It can be difficult but you must make a New-New. Letting go of the things of the past in order to move forward toward all you are created to be can be a painful season; or like Anna you can let the Lord show you the next step of your life.

God doesn’t create the difficult things that occur in our lives, but He can use them to build a facet of strength in your life that perhaps you wouldn’t have pursued without the pain.

We are at war and must embrace the Badass Warrior within in order to enable us to lead others weighted down by imaginable weights and help them be set free. Your specific gifts and personality has a circle of influence unique to you. If you don’t recognize your strength and influence who will be left standing in a battlefield unarmed?

Anna used fasting and prayer to protect her city and to urge God to bring the savior. She teaches us much about perseverance when she prayed and fasted for 60+ years!

If you find yourself in mourning, then mourn. Lick your wounds, and when you are ready to, move forward. Isaiah 40:31

Be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. ~ Ephesians 6:10-11  

You are stronger than you know and like Anna can be a warrior for yourself, your family, and your city. There is a power through the Lord that evil runs from. Make malevolent powers answer to Christ and as a warrior, you’ll be successful defending all within your circle of influence. You’ve got this!
